All Grade Levels:  

• Picture Retake Day – October 9th
• October 4th is the last day to drop a course without receiving an F on your transcript – please see your grade level counselors for help with this before then
• Air Force Cadet for A Day: October 3rd 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. See attached flyer for details and to register!
• The Kansas Department of Children and Families is extending the application deadline for a new federal program designed to help families who qualify for free/reduced lunch with food for their school-aged children. The program called Summer EBT provides families a one-time payment of $120 per child to help with groceries. See attached flier for more information. The deadline to apply is October 15. 
• The Shawnee Mission College Clinic: Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Shawnee Mission East High School. College representatives from across the country will be available to talk with students and families. Manhattan High will host a college fair on our campus on October 23rd, but this Kansas City regional fair includes additional college/universities that won't attend ours. • Mrs. Ball and Mr. Ross will meet with each 9th grade student at least once this semester. This will take most, if not all of the semester to see each student. This conversation will include MHS graduation requirements and what we know as of today. In the meantime, if a need arises, students are welcome to send a SmartPass to the Freshman Office to talk to a counselor.
