I want to welcome you to Manhattan High School. Our school’s success is a collaborative effort amongst students, teachers, families, and community. We focus our resources on improvement and what is best for our kids and strive to have a relevant educational experience that is personalized for each student. MHS’s students have a wide range of educational, athletic, extracurricular, and community engagement opportunities that benefit our school, our community, and our community partners. We are continually trying to develop relevant post-secondary pathways and rigorously taught courses that include Advanced Placement, Career and Technical Education, college concurrent credit, Excel In CTE (free college classes at MHS), core content, World Languages, and Fine Arts courses. Our courses support career pathways that provide our students hope for their future career opportunities.
We have compassion for our students and teach the desire to gain a greater perspective throughout life. We believe this is at the core of developing an appreciation, respect, and understanding of self and others. Teaching soft, professional, and life skills are important in providing all of our kids resiliency and hope for their post-secondary life. We are dedicated to the Kansans Can Vision and have implemented Foundational Structures that include: individual plans to study, student-led conferences, social and emotional and a behavioral learning, civic engagement, post-secondary planning, and helping our students determined how they learn best, etc.
We regularly work and have developed a strong partnership with our community’s first responders to provide a safe learning environment for all.
There are few things that are better than watching our amazing students succeed while engaged in their education at Manhattan High School. Our graduates are leaders in our community, state, country, and in our world. I look forward to working with our amazing students, staff, families, and community in our continued growth as a great school.
From our faculty and staff, thank you for entrusting us with the opportunity to educate your student and to watch them do great things.
